Antonio Carluccio's herb sauce for pasta


Like pesto, the herb sauce made here can be used for a variety of savoury pasta dishes. "Please vary it according to your taste" - Antonio Carluccio

Ingredients

half a small onion, finely chopped

4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

100g butter

1 garlic clove, finely chopped

25g pine nuts

8tbsp very finely chopped mixed herbs

2tbsp vegetable stock

grated zest of half a lime

Salt and pepper

serve with 400g of cooked pasta
